The Coalition of Child Serving Sectors (CCSS) is a community action initiative created to improve the well-being of children in the child welfare system and further CBC readiness efforts in Region 6 by increasing collaboration and establishing the steps needed to improve the quality and effectiveness of services across various child serving sectors throughout the community. The ultimate goal is for the CCSS to become an asset for the Single Source Continuum Contractor when a contract is signed for Community Based Care in Region 6.
Please join us for the next Community Advisory Meeting on February 15th at 9:00 pm at DePelchin Children’s Center in Houston (4950 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77007). This convening serves as a platform for community stakeholders to receive information about ongoing Coalition efforts throughout Region 6, share ideas and experiences, voice concerns, and provide feedback to facilitate the development of recommendations to help move this work forward.
Our conversation will be focused on the challenges and opportunities associated with launching and implementing Community Based Care, including a panel of representatives from existing SSCC's on their lessons learned and takeaways from the CBC experience. The latest CBC Implementation Plan, includes Harris County (Region 6a) and Bay Area/Montgomery (Region 6b) in the areas proposed for the next round of Requests for Application to begin Community Based Care, making this discussion about preparing Region 6 for Community-Based Care important and timely
